The application of helical piles has expanded beyond lightly loaded permanent structures to heavily loaded permanent structures. The paper discusses how the application of helical piles and anchors has expanded beyond lightly loaded and temporary structures to include medium and  heavily loaded permanent structures subjected to both compression and tension. A.B. Helical Piers were installed to underpin condominium in Toronto, Ontario.

A parking structure needed to be constructed under an existing building. Support of the existing structure was necessary. Chance Helical Piers were chosen for the project based on several reasons.
